How are these Report Cards Calculated?
The current School Report Card is primarily based on student performance during the previous school year. At the foundation of the report card are four priority areas. Both schools and districts receive scores for each of these areas:
- Student Achievement shows proficiency in ELA and mathematics on state assessments.
- Student Growth is measured by year-to-year progress in ELA and math achievement.
- Target Group Outcomes are based on outcomes for students with the lowest test scores, the target group.
- On-Track to Graduation is a measurement using reliable predictors of how successfully students are progressing toward completing their K-12 education.
What are the School and District Report Cards?
As part of the state accountability system, the WI Department of Public Instruction (DPI) produces report cards for every publicly funded school and district in the Staet of Wisconsin. Accountability Report Cards include data on multiple indicators for multiple years across four Priority Areas (Student Achievement, Student Growth, Target Group Outcomes, and On-track to Graduation).
The report cards are intended to help schools and districts use performance data to celebrate successes and improve their efforts to prepare students for their futures.
