The district has a rich educational history of excelling in academics and the arts, preparing students for challenging high school and post high school opportunities. The district is rich in diversity with a significant number of languages spoken in the community.
Family and community support for the MDIH School District is strong as evidenced by the successful 2019 operational and capital referendums. The planning for capital projects has been completed and work has begun with completion scheduled for summer 2021.
The district seeks a high-quality leader who will join and guide MDIH in unlocking potential by growing intellect, building confidence and strengthening character.

The MDIH School Board is pleased to announce that the firm of Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA) has been retained to assist the school board with its search for a new school district administrator/ superintendent. HYA was selected after receiving proposals from six firms that specialize in placing candidates in school district administrative positions.
A job posting can be found on HYA’s website which can garner national attention. In addition, we await confirmation of placement on the WI School Leadership Center’s site.
HYA has launched a survey, soliciting feedback on key characteristics for the district’s next superintendent. A link will be placed on the website and another message will be sent to school families indicating that the survey has been opened. In addition, a press release will be sent to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel in hopes of getting survey information out to the broader MDIH community.
While the survey is live, HYA will conduct individual interviews of school board members, representatives from parent support groups (PTO and Educational Foundation), as well as administrative team members, the district leadership team, and staff. Information garnered from all of these sources will be used to create a leadership profile that will guide the search and selection process.
Interviews for the position are scheduled to take place in late June. It is expected that there will be staff and community participation during the interview process. Specific arrangements are still being developed, taking into consideration the current state of in-person vs. online meetings.
