Please plan on attending the MDIH Cultural Fair! This FREE event is a celebration of our district’s rich ethnic diversity, and promotes cross-cultural learning and experiences for students, teachers, staff members, and families.
Watch as the Pandanza Dance Company, fuses dance and music from the Caribbean, Central and South America. Listen to the beats of a Korean drumming group and see Irish dancers leap and dance. Enjoy exhibits presented by school families, all while your child has the opportunity to gain passport stamps and earn prizes. There will also be food available for purchase.
Date: January 24, 2019
Time: 5:00-7:30 p.m.
Location: Maple Dale
Food: Vendors will be selling dinner
Are you interested in sharing your cultural background? We are looking for families to put together an exhibit table on a country. Each exhibit table should include some facts about the country, e.g. ethnic groups, language(s) spoken, cultural traditions, holidays, history, photos, traditional clothing, artifacts, current events, arts/music, and games. A table, tablecloth, and flag will be provided for each country table.
Please contact Jackie Robinson-Hunsicker at 414/530-7182 or by email if you are interested. A flyer was sent home last week with a tear-off on the bottom to send back if you're interested, as well.
In addition, please know that we can always use extra hands at this event.
